The Informatica ETL Architect has the overall responsibility for assessing requirements and defining the strategy, technical architecture, implementation plan and delivery of data warehouse projects. The Informatica ETL Architect must have prior experience completing successful data warehousing implementations as well as broad background and experience with IT application development. This individual is responsible for establishing the long term strategy and technical architecture as well as the short term scope for a multi-phased data warehouse effort and should have strong professional consulting skills and the ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization.The Informatica ETL Architect must be willing to do the high-level and low level design and must be willing to do the hands-on development, unit testing and provide support for QA and User Acceptance testing. The Informatica ETL Architect will lead a team of ETL Developers which are responsible for solution development, as well as unit testing and support for QA and User Acceptance testing.

Responsibilities

Deliver a project scope that directly supports the key business drivers
Direct the ETL discovery and design process and participate in design of the overall BI solution architecture (e.g., ETL process, ODS, EDW, Data Marts)
Provide hands on technical leadership
oReview and approve ETL solution designs and strategies
oProvide technical mentoring to development teams
oProvide leadership, guidance, and expertise to resolve data integration issues
oAssist development team in resolving coding issues
oResearch emerging ETL technologies, tools, methodologies, and strategies and provide recommendations on utilization/implementation
Lead technical requirements gathering as well as technical and data architectures for the data warehousing data integration projects
Provide subject matter expertise and knowledge guidance to Business Analysts and ETL specialists.
Lead the design and development of ETL solutions, including data quality and testing
Ensure compliance of meta data standards for the data warehouse
Proven subject matter expertise in leading:

oData Profiling
oData Modeling of Target State in Data Warehouse
oHigh Level and Low Level Design
oSource to Target Mapping documentation
oCoding & Unit Testing
oQA Testing Support


Qualifications


Qualifications
Mastery in data warehousing concepts. Candidate should be able to clearly communicate fundamental concepts during the interview and demonstrate previous experience in all aspects.
Strong business and communication skills

years of experience with Informatica in a Developer and Technical Lead role
4
years of experience as an Informatica ETL Architect
Strong data modeling skills (normalized and multidimensional)
Strong SQL skills in Oracle Partitioned Environment
Experience in tuning Oracle queries/processes and Query Tuning/Analysis Tools
Experience in scheduling tools such as Tivoli, Autosys and Ctrl-M
Knowledge of Informatica Application Framework, Interfaces, and overall Architecture (including installation configuration strategies and best-practices)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Sciences (Preferred)
Experience in Business Intelligence reporting tools such as Cognos and Business Objects (Preferred)
Experience in Oracle database programming using Partitioning, Materialized View and OLAP (Preferred)
Knowledge of Health Care Insurance Payer Data Warehousing (Preferred)

The Informatica ETL Architect must have hands-on experience with:
Oracle 10g and above
Informatica 8.x and above (9.5 preferred)

oPowerExchange
oData Quality
oIDE (Data Profiling)
Unix Shell Scripting (AIX, Linux)
Scheduling Tools (any one of Tivoli, Autosys and Ctrl-M)
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
