Are you a meticulous and detail-oriented professional with a strong command of language and a passion for refining technical content? Do you have a keen eye for grammar, clarity, and consistency? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Technical Writer/Editor! As a Technical Writer/Editor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and quality of our technical documentation.
Your exceptional editing and proofreading skills, coupled with your understanding of technical concepts, will help shape our content into clear, concise, and polished deliverables.
Responsibilities:
Review and edit technical documentation, including manuals, user guides, and technical reports, for grammar, style, clarity, and adherence to established guidelines.
Ensure consistency of terminology, formatting, and overall tone across various documents.
Collaborate with technical writers and subject matter experts to clarify and refine complex concepts into easily understandable language.
Identify and correct errors, inconsistencies, and ambiguities in technical content.
Verify accuracy and validity of information by conducting fact-checking and cross-referencing.
Improve the organization and flow of information within documents to enhance readability and comprehension.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in technical writing.
Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and advancements in technical writing and editing.
Provide constructive feedback and guidance to technical writers to enhance the quality of their content.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including graphic designers and illustrators, to ensure effective integration of visuals and written content.
Qualifications:
Graduation from a university in technical drafting (equivalent to the French licence r dacteur technique).
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences.
Proficiency in English speaking and writing; knowledge of French and Italian is a plus.
Familiarity with technical automotive vocabulary.
Certification in servicing and maintaining automotive vehicles is a plus.
Certification as a Technical Advisor in a workshop is a plus.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a technical writer.
Experience working with Arbortext, Oxygen, or similar editors.
Proven experience working as a technical writer in the automotive domain is a plus.
