Job Description Job Description Relocation Assistance Provided! Position Purpose:
The Estimator is responsible for providing estimating data for both conceptual and hard bid estimates.
The Estimator provides support to Development, Construction and Property Management divisions of the company.
Essential Job Functions:
Coordinate traditional plan/spec hard-dollar estimates/bids.
Generate conceptual estimates with detailed scope description and unit price breakdown.
Generate and maintain in house unit price data for all components of work and various regions of the country.
Assist Project Manager with subcontract award and bid analysis.
Written and verbal presentation skills.
Communication of budgets, schedules, etc.
with clients and Project Managers.
Create and maintain relationships with subcontractor community.
Providing cost analysis to the client in the form of value-engineering and alternates.
Clearly communicate budget, schedule, and other major issues to the Project Manager.
Work with the project executive to establish project GMPs.
Maintain job cost history analysis required to provide cost data for future projects.
Manage paperwork requirements of bidding and proposals.
Take part in marketing proposals and presentations.
Occasional travel required.
Educational/Experience Requirements Proven record of full time estimates consistent with duties listed.
Experience with the following project types preferred:
Large scale office, medical office, retail, warehouse and light industrial, tenant improvements and mid-rise residential.
4 - 7 years of estimating experience.
Must have experience with conceptual estimating and lump sum bid estimating.
Must be able to estimate various trades and solicit and evaluate subcontractor's bids.
Ability to take-off and price various trade work.
Must have experience creating construction project budgets.
Working knowledge of windows-based computer software, including Microsoft Project, Excel and Word; estimating and project management software experience in Procore is required.
Bachelors degree in Construction related field, preferably within Civil Engineering, Architectural Design or Construction Management.
Non-degreed candidate must be able to demonstrate broad practical experience in construction and/or facilities.
Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
