8 Detroit, MI Detroit, MI Full-time Full-time 2 days ago 2 days ago 2 days ago The Enterprise Security Officer II position is an essential member of the enterprise security team and is focused on providing a safe, secure, and friendly environment for all individuals on our property.
The primary duties of a security officer II consist of Security Officer I responsibilities in addition to enterprise command center responsibilities.
Individuals in this position must be professional in their appearance and conduct and assist in the enforcement of corporate policies, guidelines, procedures, rules, regulations, laws, and ordinances.
The security officer II will protect BCBSM property against damage, fire, theft, trespassing, and illegal or unauthorized entry.
They will also provide an emergency response for major events and provide high quality customer service and educate stakeholders to take an active role in maintaining a secure workplace.
The Security Officer II must remain calm under pressure and can make decisions quickly to protect people or property across the BCBSM enterprise.
Assists in the enforcement of corporate policies at access control points and utilize the Visitor Card Management System to issue one-day employee, contractor, and visitor badges.
Conducts interior and exterior patrols of our properties to protect against property damage, theft, trespassing, unauthorized entry and fire or safety hazards.
Issues parking violations when applicable.
Performs scheduled life safety inspections of AED, duress buttons, fire extinguishers, fire alarm systems and other security technologies and equipment to assure they are functioning and operating as intended.
Complete all necessary test forms and document findings and action taken to address deficiencies.
Provides escorts to vehicles upon request.
Perform executive/ security driving details (with company vehicles) as assigned.
Assures that all visitors are properly greeted and directed to their destination, and that unauthorized persons are not permitted to gain access to the buildings.
Checks ID badges, boxes, packages, assists visitors, and provides security at entrances and exits of the buildings.
Respond, investigates, and writes security incident reports regarding crimes, fire or safety incidents, medical emergencies, property loss or damage, and employee or guest misconduct.
Manage traffic and parking processes/records and enforce company guidelines/rules for employees and tenants.
Manage and perform tasks regarding identity, access and alarm management, visitor management, and other related processes.
Conducts scheduled access audits of security sensitive areas at all enterprise locations.
Conducts access audits of personnel at the direction of Human Resources.
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, employees, guests, contractors, and vendors.
Maintain understanding and knowledge of security related operations at all enterprise locations.
Assists in training and guidance of Security Officers and may act in the absence of Security leadership.
Consistently demonstrate knowledge application through adherence and administration of corporate policies and performs other duties as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Command Center Serve as the 24/7 emergency command/ dispatch center for the BCBSM enterprise (including subsidiary companies).
Monitor, respond, and react to various security scenarios which could impact our people or property.
Direct first responders/ emergency response to the event, providing real time updates as needed.
Monitor external risk events and initiate the appropriate security response following established security procedures.
Operates computerized building safety and security alarm systems, answers customer information requests, and dispatches appropriate staff via radio and telephone for building security.
Monitors enterprise-wide security systems and networks, such as closed-circuit technology.
Test and documents operation of all CCTV cameras to ensure functionality state-wide and nationally.
Receives and responds to emergency and non-emergency calls from internal and external stakeholders.
Performs multiple stakeholder requests via phone, email, and access controls systems.
Liaison with Public Safety throughout the state and nationally for enterprise dispatch in an emergent situation.
Processes and evaluates information received, prioritizes calls and dispatches required units and/or agencies.
Maintains status and locations of post officers.
Monitors and coordinates unit activity and assignments via radio frequencies.
Creates and distributes mass Emergency Notification System (ENS) messages for emergent situations.
Serve as the central hub for all security operations- escalate and communicate crisis events quickly.
Performs various access control audits for all facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS High School Graduate or GED equivalent required.
One (1) year post-secondary education in criminal justice or related discipline.
Associates degree preferred.
Two (2) years security related experience, or one (1) year general business or military with one (1) year general involving public customer service contact and experience in office building security.
One (1) year experience as a BCBSM Security Officer I preferred.
Working knowledge of safety codes, OSHA, and emergency preparedness preferred.
Valid and unrestricted driverEUR(TM)s license with no excessive traffic violations.
Ability to obtain a chauffeurEUR(TM)s license.
Ability to obtain First Aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) certification.
Basic knowledge of criminal and civil law.
Proficient with computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Knowledge of various fire safety alarms and devices.
Operational knowledge of radio and surveillance systems/ devices.
Demonstrated competency and/or ability to learn computerized security technologies (identity, access and alarm management, and surveillance systems).

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
