Job Summary
WE HAVE OPPORTUNITIES AT MULTIPLE SITES
Provide demand side energy conservation and energy efficiency opportunities by performing reviews of energy consuming systems and equipment including maintenance functions, operating practices and physical conditions. Perform utility usage patterns and evaluations for energy reduction and equipment replacement opportunities. Promote energy conservation and energy efficiency through the implementation of established best practices, energy conservation awareness education, integration of new energy efficient technologies and energy usage analysis. Span of control = 0; this is an individual contributor job.
Key Accountabilities
Identify and analyze energy conservation and energy efficiency opportunities, with the objective of optimizing customer's energy utilization.
Provide assistance in resolving billing issues, power quality issues, momentary outage resolution and any other utility-related customer concerns.
Provide customers with energy conservation and optimization technical support for multiple energy sources including; electricity, natural gas, steam, compressed air, water, etc.
Collaborate with the maintenance and operation divisions for implementing measures to reduce utility usage and improve efficiency and provide technical support.
Write grant proposals and coordinate energy partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies.
Understand existing and new products, services and technologies to optimize energy usage in a cost-effective manner and provide customer with simple pay back evaluations.
Monitor, develop and implement energy awareness programs and activities and conduct energy audits.
Prepare reports relating to operations and program performance and disseminate to leadership.
Work directly with customers to develop annual energy budgets.
Provide project management functions for implementation of energy related projects to ensure the maximum resource efficiency and sustainable building practices are used.
Assist in driving customer satisfaction by meeting the customer and DTE Energy's overall energy reduction targets.

Qualifications
Qualifications
Education and experience requirements can be satisfied through one of the following options:
Associate's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a related technical discipline, and the knowledge and capabilities acquired through 5-plus years of relevant job related experience, such as experience in energy management; Prefer Certified Energy Manager from the Association of Energy Engineers. OR
Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or related technical discipline and the knowledge and capabilities acquired through 3-plus years of relevant job related experience such as; experience in energy management; evaluating energy management systems, compressed air systems, HVAC systems, lighting systems; energy-saving programs in commercial and industrial facilities. Professional Engineer's license or Certified Energy Manager certification from the Association of Energy Engineers or an MBA.
Understand and recommend energy conservation techniques for implementation.
Perform energy efficiency technology evaluations and provide recommendations to the customer.
Intermediate-to-advanced analytical and project management skills, including scheduling, estimating, and budgeting.
Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with individuals at all levels, inside and outside the Company.
Ability to learn and discuss existing and new products, services and technologies to optimize energy usage.
Analytic and problem-solving skills consistent with the ability to identify key energy improvement-related issues, and recommend optimal solutions for various situations.
Ability to analyze and interpret potentially complex financial and energy usage-related data, and develop optimal recommendations and solutions.
Ability to conduct effective meetings, and manage the meeting process with optimal results.
Ability to initiate new ideas and approaches; challenging prevailing practices and approaches to develop feasible alternatives.
Knowledge and experience in Continuous Improvement processes, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
Ability to work in a team and/or matrix structure.
