POSITION OVERVIEW The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the maintenance department for Evernest Detroit, as well as maintaining city rental ordinance compliance for all properties under management.
You will work directly with our internal maintenance team and vendors to estimate and complete property renovations, provide prompt service for Evernest resident maintenance requests, and ensure that all properties maintain active rental/landlord licenses at all times.
COMPETENCIES & REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities:
Manage team of Evernest Maintenance Coordinators Audit maintenance coordinator dispatching and vendor followup Audit/spot-check estimates for reasonability, accuracy, and supporting information Maintain a full vendor pool and cultivate good relationships with those vendors Provide constructive feedback to vendors and ensure compliance with Evernest processes Escalate issues, when necessary, according to company and departmental policies and guidelines.
Estimating and on-site project management for renovations Manage rental registration and compliance procedures for all municipalities Ensure registration renewals are completed before the due date Ensure all properties are registered before listing for rent Manage compliance-related repairs
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Builder's or general contractor's license preferred Other maintenance or mechanical licenses are a plus 5
years of maintenance/project management Able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
Must possess strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Able to communicate clear and concise instructions both verbally and in writing.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude throughout each day.
Must have computer experience and a comfort level of navigating multiple databases.
