LGC is a successful General Contracting company proposing and executing Architecture, Engineering, Procurement and Construction projects.
LGC is currently searching for a Proposal Writer/Coordinator with experience, preferably within the Federal and Municipal sectors.
This Proposal Writer/Coordinator will support medium to large -scale construction proposals pointed at government/federal locations across the nation and municipal locations across the greater Detroit area.
Projects will typically range from $5M - $50M, with an occasional proposal at $50M+.
The Proposal Writer/Coordinator will report to the Vice President of Municipal Operations.
They will support proposals in unison with Subject Matter Experts and Estimators throughout each opportunity's lifecycle.
The Proposal Writer/Coordinator will be responsible for supporting many aspects of each proposal, which will typically include comprehending the RFP requirements, creating compliance matrices, performing critical reading, and writing, gathering documentation from various resources, and assembling them in a formal response, filling out standardized forms, creating response outlines and facilitating mail shipments.
The Proposal Writer/Coordinator will support multiple types of opportunities, including but not limited to, Prequalification for Proposals, Sources Sought, Hard Bid, Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build proposals.
The Proposal Writer/Coordinator will be required to support our solicitation responses using various industry-best practices and approaches.
The Proposal Writer/Coordinator also ensures that the proposal database is maintained and organized for quick reference and usage across the greater team, and to subsequently provide efficient handoffs to the execution team members upon project awards.
Key Responsibilities & Competencies:
Develop and maintain good relationships with Executive Leadership Ability to present and discuss proposal documentation to Leadership Execute the cascaded vision of the proposal department management Able to work well as part of a multi-office team environment Utilize and help develop proposal department tools, processes and procedures Possess superior communication (email and documentation) skills Ability to perform role with minimal supervision - driven and highly organized Prepare data by collecting, consolidating, and summarizing into presentable formats Manage personal deliverables to align to each proposal's timelines and requirements Resolve solicitation discrepancies by collecting Team questions and submitting them through a structured RFI processes Able to fill out standardized forms, create a solicitation response outline and a compliance matrix Coordinate with bonding company to obtain bid Process performance payment bonds Coordination and submittal of documents to customer after award of contract Able to use Microsoft Teams, Word, and Excel proficiently Able to write persuasively and articulately Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Able to travel, but travel will not be common Skills &
Qualifications:
2 - 3 Years of experience supporting proposals, or grants, or high-level administrative support Superior written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills, including superior attention to detail and multitasking skills Proficient using Microsoft Word is a requirement, whereas Microsoft Excel is preferred Must be technically savvy with the ability to quickly learn new programs Prefer a Bachelor's degree in Technical or Professional Writing, English, Journalism, Communications, or other related fields (AND/OR) proven equivalent experience in similar role Metro Detroit-based professional is required Experience within Architecture, Engineering and Construction spaces - comfortable using associated vocabulary would be preferred Shipley Trained and/or APMP Certified would be a plus Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.
