FT Medical Assistant- JSF

Covenant Community Care, a faith-based charitable non-profit Community Health Center serving the people of Metro Detroit, has an immediate opportunity for a full-time Medical Assistant to work at its Joy-Southfield clinic.
The Medical Assistant assists providers with direct patient care and other areas as needed, carries out services as part of a comprehensive medical team, and serves to assure quality and efficiency.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Assists providers with patient care, e.
g.
office visits, vital signs, procedures, and sterilization of instruments.
Prepare, document and administer injections, as well as vaccine translation and temperature log.
Performs various diagnostics including venipuncture, collects lab specimens, EKG, HCG and strep tests.
Renders first aid as necessary.
Escorts patients to appropriate setting, explaining and apologizing for any delays.
Sets up, cleans and restocks patient rooms.
Communications with patients regarding:
laboratory results, appointments and hospital admissions both verbally and in writing.
Assists with medication administration including prescription refill confirmation with pharmacies.
Documents services delivered in a timely, accurate and prescribed manner, in compliance with the Covenant Community Care's Quality Assurance Plan.
Adheres to the Policies and Procedures, standards for service delivery and Code of Ethics established by Covenant Community Care, Inc.
Maintains inventory of supplies and assists with ordering supplies.
Assists front desk as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned by the team leader.
Predictable, consistent and reliable attendance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED Completion of an MA technical program or prior MA experience Prior successful experience in an MA position preferred but not required Maintains up-to-date BLS certification Proficiency with computers and Electronic Health Records will be essential Knowledge and experience using Athena is a plus Consistent and excellent customer service & communication skills are a must.
Must possess demonstrated organizational skills, including accuracy, filing, and basic arithmetic skills.
Athena experience is preferred.
Must be able to pass a background check.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
