Scale Clerk - Non Ferrous
Ferrous Processing and Trading a business of Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Scale Clerk at our Strong Steel operation.
Responsible for weighing all inbound and outbound vehicles, inspecting loose loads to direct them to proper unloading areas, and assisting in the details of purchases.
Summary of
Responsibilities:
Buying of non-ferrous metals from the public, properly identifying material into the appropriate type or grade Ensure compliance with applicable state law and company policy while providing excellent customer service to the retail public Greet and assist retail customers in purchasing non-ferrous scrap metal creating a positive customer experience Setting prices and purchasing materials based on market values Managing and controlling inventory levels Answering customer questions about materials, pricing, and procedure Provide day-to-day coaching and guidance to develop our team to its fullest potential Maintain consumers quality measures Maintain records, such as inventory, purchases, cost, delivers, and production reports Research, compare and evaluate local markets Manage, arrange, and schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers Observe safety rules and focus efforts on continuous improvements Assist with processing as needed, periodically operating equipment Maintain scale house and keep grounds organized Keep GM informed of all incoming and outgoing load Monitor inventory levels to develop strategic purchasing programsMinimum Qualifications High School Diploma/GED.
Good verbal and written communication skills Basic math, computer, account reconciliation, and data entry skills Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks at once Ability to complete assignments promptly with attention to detail Work cooperatively with other employees and the public Pre-Employment background, physical, and hair drug screen requiredFerrous Processing and Trading is a subsidiary of Cleveland-Cliffs Inc.
