Network Engineer


Summary:
The role of the Network Operations Engineer 3 is to resolve complex escalated incidents and provide 24x7 rotating on-call support.
This position frequently anticipates problems and analyzes ways to mitigate the risk, as well as articulate the business value and impact of advanced technical and non-technical information and understands when to escalate issues.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Support the introduction of a SaSE solution into the enterprise environment.
Provide technical support to the SaSE project team.
Train engineers on SaSE concepts and troubleshooting.
Take escalations of technical issues.
Performs advanced break/fix troubleshooting and mentors more junior engineers.
Maintains current knowledge of hardware, software and network technology and recommends modifications as required.
Maintains documentation and updates the network and security infrastructure, tests and implements vendor security patches, implements workarounds for unpatched security vulnerabilities.
Troubleshoots problems with applications, network and security infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPN appliances, proxy servers, DNS appliances and Wireless devices.
Takes corrective actions when necessary following change control guidelines and polices.
Resolves the most complex issues in the environment with little to no supervision, relying on his/her ability to pull together technical resources to gather accurate information to provide data driven solutions.
Create all required technical documentation in accordance with Huntington's Change Control and project management processes and procedures.
Provide after hours and on-call support as needed.
Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree 7
years of related experience supporting end to end network technologies such as routers, switches, VPN appliances, firewalls, proxy's, load Balancers, DNS appliances, and wireless devices.
Strong SaSE skillset (iBoss preferred) Strong Palo Alto Firewall experience Strong SD-WAN knowledge Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience with F5 LTM/GTM, Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Apcon and OPNet.
Experience with UNIX/Linux.
In-depth experience with dynamic routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF.
Advanced understanding of business technology drivers and their impact on architecture design Advanced understanding of performance and monitoring Proficient in more than one specific infrastructure technology Advanced understanding of best practices and HNB policies Advanced troubleshooting skills Technical certifications such as Cisco CCNP-Enterprise or Datacenter, CCIE, Palo Alto PCCSA, PCNS, PCNSE, or F5.
Excellent communications skills (written and verbal) and ability to work both independently and in a group.
