This position reports to and is evaluated by Principal Position Description:
The Attendance/Community Resource Coordinator supports the district's goals and priorities around student attendance and academic achievement.
This individual will partner with students, families, staff, and community partners to identify challenges relating to student attendance and strategize to find proactive solutions.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Preferred course of study in one or more of the following areas:
Social Work, Child Development, Child or Family Guidance or Counseling, Education, Psychology, Community Relations and Services, Criminal Justice, or Mental Health Minimum of 3 years experience at a school or district Experience with attendance tracking and reporting using a Student Information System Must possess and provide evidence of a valid Michigan driver's license; have access to an operable automobile and be willing to use vehicle for District business on a reimbursable basis.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Strong organizational skills Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, implement and support a district-level truancy plan Assist in developing interventions and strategies that improve attendance, instructional time, behavior, discipline and family involvement.
Compile and evaluate data; prepare analysis, reports and recommendations regarding school attendance and truancy.
Monitor and provide regular monthly reporting of data related to measuring the effectiveness of attendance initiatives and interventions Assist in coordination of district-wide programs and campaigns that reflect student attendance toward improving truancy, dropout prevention, student discipline and coordination incentives Review student attendance and dropout data for the purpose of monitoring progress, identifying deficiencies and support school plans for improvement Work with District administration to assist in the development of alternative programs and processes to reduce in and out of school suspensions and increase student time in class Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations that support student attendance and involvement Collaborate with building administrators to develop proactive interventions and strategies needed to improve student daily attendance and discipline Research and respond to inquiries from building administrators concerning building based issues around discipline and attendance Respond to parent concerns related to discipline, attendance and school safety Design a 3-5 year support plan for discipline, truancy, serves as support for homeless, foster, LGBTQ and other high risk, high potential and/or historically underserved population Adhere to highest standards of confidentiality regarding student and family information Adhere to Michigan and Federal school law, State Board of Education rules and regulations, DAAS Board of Education policies and regulation and contractual obligations Other duties as assigned Physical Requirements:
Light Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects; frequent standing, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling.
Terms of Employment:
Full-time, benefits eligible.
Salary $50,000-65,000 depending on experience.
Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated by the School Principal in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
