Implement innovative plans and strategies to engage alumni and students in meaningful ways, generate affinity, loyalty and enthusiasm for the School of Medicine and provide purposeful cultivation and stewardship opportunities for donors.
This position reports to the Director, SOM Alumni Affairs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Essential functions are the primary duties/major job responsibilities that an employee must be able to perform,with or without reasonable accommodation.

) Coordinate and manage approximately 75-100 alumni/student engagement programs annually for the SOM's 25,000 alumni and 1,500 students.
Oversee the implementation and promotion of social, academic and professional development programs, events and communications to increase affinity and engagement in the SOM.
Create an assessment tool to demonstrate the impact of alumni/student engagement programs on overall affinity to the SOM.
Manage the WSU Medical Alumni Association membership campaign.
Develop a multi-year, multi-prong operational plan to increase membership and improve member retention.
Utilize membership affinity to assist in identifying and cultivating prospective donors to the SOM.
Coordinate and manage the Medical Alumni merchandise program, the exclusive source of SOM-branded merchandise and apparel at the university.
Manage merchandise sales, inventory tracking and ordering.
Analyze in-office and on-line sales trends to inform ordering decisions.
Work closely with the university's central marketing team to ensure compliance with logo and branding policies.
Develop and implement a comprehensive School of Medicine alumni social media plan to reach and inspire SOM alumni and students.
Work closely with the School of Medicine's Marketing and Communications team to align strategies, communications and programming.
Work collaboratively with the SOM development team to cultivate and engage prospects in strategic ways.
Develop activities that assist the development and prospect research teams in identifying prospective donors to the SOM.
Plan and oversee Future Docs, an annual event for 400 six-twelve year olds to introduce them to science and medicine.
Collaborate with Admissions, Diversity and Inclusion and Student Affairs offices to leverage the event as a pipeline program.
Prepare project and event budgets and monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with university policy and procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education Bachelor's degree Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in marketing, public relations, business administration or related field.
Knowledge of fundraising software preferred.
Reasonable knowledge and understanding of university policies and procedures preferred.
Experience Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience) Qualified candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience as a development, marketing or event management professional.
Higher education development or alumni relations experience and prior volunteer management experience preferred.
Experience using social media preferred.

Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally both orally and in writing.
Strong interpersonal skills are a must.
Ability to work successfully with persons from diverse backgrounds.
PLANNING AND ORGANIZATION:
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines.
Strong organizational and time-management skills required.
Demonstrated ability to manage and execute multiple creative projects in various media, often at the same time.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline-oriented environment.
ANALYTICAL AND PRESENTATION SKILLS:
Ability to evaluate, interpret, and present complex information effectively in professionally prepared documents or presentations.
Must possess a demonstrated attention to detail in order to achieve a high degree of accuracy.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Proficient in the use of complex administrative systems software, preferably in the higher education environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel and Teams.
LEARNING AGILITY:
Independent and innovative self-starter who displays an ability to learn quickly and easily adapts to changing situations.
Experience researching topics to gain knowledge and understanding when information gaps exist.
TEAMWORK:
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues within the division and other units to gain full understanding of the project and desired outcome; ability to produce high quality and consistent results with assistance of team members; provide support to teammates when tackling complex projects.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
