DO YOU HAVE A BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN ACCOUNTING? We have a full time on-site FINANCIAL REPORTING MANAGER, working HYBRID-REMOTE.
MUST LIVE IN SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN.
The accounting professional we seek will manage the Samaritas accounting functions and oversees all financial aspects for the Affordable Living program, in accordance with the Organization's financial policies and procedures.
Ensures appropriate internal controls are in place to protect Samaritas assets and produce timely and accurate financial information for internal and external users.

Job Expectations (Essential Functions, Specific Duties and Responsibilities):
Maintain financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, Organization policies and other regulatory requirementsManage the month end closing process including compliance with deadlines, reconciliation of various schedules and review general ledger monthly for accuracy and completenessOversee monthly financial reporting, including the preparation of cash flow statement and covenants and review of financial statements in accordance with general accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for all Samaritas organizations and managed facilitiesMonitor and reconcile investments of the general, trust and foundation funds noting any transactions that might be outside of policy.
Manage and oversee the organizations disbursement process, including both accounts payable and payroll.
Ensure the organization is in compliance with all payroll tax and other regulatory compliance.
Perform regular internal audits related to contract and policy compliance.
Assist with audit and tax functions, and coordinate activities with outside audit firms.
Assist with treasury management.
Assist in the maintenance of written operational and financial policies and procedures to assure continuous quality improvement, internal control, and that the department standards are met.
Manage the organization's credit card program, assuring policy compliance.
Oversee the record keeping of the organization's fixed assets; ensure compliance with Samaritas policies related to capital purchases.
Coordinate requests from programs for general ledger corrections, allocations and other needed journal entries.
Provide leadership to staff and supervisors.
Partner with Human Resources in staff attraction and retention efforts, including hiring, onboarding, staff development, coaching and counseling and performance management.
Ensure delegation of responsibility, authority and accountability.
Assist with the maintenance of the accounting system.
Analyze financial information; provide recommendations and solutions to Director, Finance to improve workflow processes and meet department and organizational objectives.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
