A stable, growing long time successful manufacturing of power train components is continuing to take additional market share. They have a solid reputation for producing complex machined parts on time. Due to their business strategy, growth plan and capital investments, they are launching several new programs over the next 2 years. This opportunity will result in hiring several more key associates. Our client has many employees with 15 plus years with the company. They offer good benefits and are maintaining low cost health insurance for their valued employees.
We are searching for a Quality Engineer to be the primary customer point of contact, once the program begins to launch. This
position
will plan, organize, manage resources, lead the APQP process, manage project goals and ensure customer satisfaction. The Quality Engineer/Program
manager
will receive all customer documents, distributes documents to the appropriate team members and submits customer documents to customer web portals. This position will lead APQP kickoff and progress meetings ensuring tasks, goals and objectives are achieved. This position involves occasional travel to customers in SE
michigan
. The Quality Engineer / Program Manager will quickly respond to customer questions and concerns, scheduling meetings internally and externally. Knowledge of APQP requirements preparing or approving PFMEA, PPAP, control plans and work instructions. Experience communicating customer requirements, due dates and engineering changes to the team is a must. Strong project management skills are needed. Good
computer
skills and use of ERP / MRP, project management software and the ability to use MS Office products is also needed. Past experience managing cross functional teams ensuring objectives and successfully completing projects is required. Interested candidates will need 5 plus years of quality engineering and past experience managing the APQP process. Experience working with Ford, GM, Chrysler and other tier one suppliers is strongly preferred.
MUST HAVE: 5 years of quality engineering and some experience managing APQP activities and product launches. Precious customer contact is a must.
