Global Sourcing Director- Motors Metro Detroit
Join an Industry leading Global Tier 1 Automotive company who is seeking talented a Global Sourcing Director for the Motors Commodity in the firm's U.S. Headquarters. Global $Multi-billion dollar company servicing the global automotive markets.
Your responsibilities will include:
Create strategy for Global Motors procurement.
Collaborate with Central Subject Matter Experts across all divisions.
Drive profits using cost saving strategies and program management skills to effectively lower materials costs within current supplier base, new suppliers, and LCC/BCC strategies.
Communicate effectively across all company groups. Coordinate global teams.
Engage Engineers from company and suppliers to identify and use company levers.
Identify and implement annual cost reduction strategies for assigned commodities group to meet cost reduction targets.
Identify volume leverage to improve profitability.
Manage the supplier base, develop new suppliers and improve and strengthen current relationships.
Continuously conduct cost assessments to identify and implement improvements. Analyze and report financial recommendations to senior staff.
Partner with Engineering and Product Development to perform analysis, modify strategies, and drive change in the manufacturing processes.
Interface with Engineering Department to review and enhance the contract process.
Read and interpret technical specifications, work with suppliers to initiate change.
Develop annual and long term materials strategies and agreements with supplier base.
Travel approximately 25%
Successful candidates must have the following requirements:
4 year Degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Business. MBA preferred.
8-12 years of commodity experience in motors, actuators, regulators, etc. in automotive environments.
Automotive Sourcing Experience in current role. No consultancies.
Documented skills in in project management, strategic planning, and execution of cost reduction strategies.
Deep technical and market knowledge of suppliers.
Strong global complex agreement negotiation skills.
Lean Process Project Experience - Six Sigma Certification, CPIM, ISM, NAPM a plus.
High level of cross functional leadership skills.
Long term planning/financials skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. ERP experience in Oracle
Extensive knowledge of Supplier Quality Programs.
Stable work history- longevity at previous employers.
Relocation paid.
Must currently be in a similar
position
