TEMPORARY FOOD SERVICE WORKER (not to exceed 90 days) - CANTEEN SERVICE
Work Hours/Schedule: Monday- Friday from 6:30am to 3:00pm

As a Food Service Worker in the Canteen Service you will be performing a variety of food service duties in support of the Canteen food operations. Food Service Workers in the Canteen may have the following assignments:
Kitchen, Burger/Grilling Station or Country Cooking Station, Pizza Station, Broasted Chicken Station, Deli, Salad Bars, Serving Line, or Cash Register.
Food Service Workers must comply with all safety rules and health provisions addressing sanitation and food handling.
When working on the serving line, the Food Service Worker complies with portion control measures and greets customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
Relocation expenses will not be reimbursed.
Your background must demonstrate the following:
Ability to read and interpret instructions and perform simple calculations used in food preparation.
_Experience in the food service industry_, _including experience with operating/cleaning kitchen equipment or facilities_, knowledge of proper food handling and food sanitation procedures, customer service training , etc.
Physical Effort : Requires constant standing, walking, and frequent bending. Must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 45 pounds unassisted, and occasionally lift or move objects weighing over 45 pounds with assistance. There is moderate carrying (15 - 44 pounds); pushing; reaching above shoulder; use of fingers; walking; standing (7 hours); ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously; both eyes required; depth perception; hearing (aid permitted). Environmental Factors include: excessive heat; excessive cold; excessive humidity; excessive dampness or chilling; fumes/smoke/gas; grease and oils; working around machinery with moving parts; working with hands in water.
WORKING CONDITIONS : Work is performed in the Canteen Service. Food Service Workers are subject to slippery/wet floors, constant noise from various food service related equipment; exposure to grills, ovens, steam from cooking, heat from cooking; exposure to chemicals used to clean/sanitize cooking and related equipment. EXPERIENCE : A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence of specialized experience which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position, must be supported by detailed descriptions of your experience on your resume. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 or 2 in the on-line questionnaire.
