Systems Analyst- Ambulatory Electronic Medical Record

Ascension Information Services (AIS) is seeking to hire a Systems Analyst to join the Ambulatory EHR Systems' support team at St. John Providence Health System in Warren, MI. The Associate will work as part of a dedicated group supporting multiple EMRs including Cerner and eClinicalworks.
In addition to the standard business knowledge listed in the generic job description the ideal candidate for this position will have a working knowledge of the technologies involved with successfully deploying the electronic medical record technology. This knowledge should include a understanding of the workflow of a physician office and how the electronic medical record system supports the quality of care and the overall efficiency of the office operations.
The Associate is responsible for designing, building and testing solutions that improve the clinicians work flow as well as performing routine support and maintenance of Cerner Millennium and eClinical Works solutions.
Implementations
Performing the following project tasks: design, build, test, integration test, and implementation of (EMR, HIE connectivity, interfaces, patient portal) following the AIS PMO life cycle and system development life cycle.)
Supporting the project manager in development of project plans, milestone management, critical issue management.
Providing ongoing support for physician offices including troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Application Support
Provide production support on a 24x7 basis within a support team within an on-call rotation.
Update support and maintenance documentation
Provides production support on as part of an on-call rotation that provides 24x7 support.
Participate in application upgrades, including writing new test scripts as needed, conducting testing, working with end users on newly added (or modified) functionality, and supporting the upgrade's migration into PROD.
Participation in other application upgrades patch installations and infrastructure changes that impact Cerner Millennium's EHR or eClinical Works including project coordination, conducting Regression Testing, and supporting the move to PROD.
Participate in and provide input to individual team solution informational overviews.
Participate in team Peer Review sessions for enhancements and break fixes.
Participate in enhancement design sessions.
Update support and maintenance documentation as needed.
Adhere to IT General Controls (ITGC) and provide assistance on CHAN audits.
Provide input and participate in change control meetings.
Maintenance
Perform standard maintenance tasks which may include:
periodic updates to the application
monitoring of upgrades to applications that feed data or receive data from supported applications
participation in application upgrades, enhancement implementation and infrastructure changes through testing and change control completion
Enhancements
Complete user requests/initiatives related to Ambulatory initiatives and complete build and maintenance.
Complete requirements gathering and documentation with clear definition of what is in and out of scope.
Research functionality for new enhancements
Take requests as needed thru the Project Management Process, creating documentation as needed.
Coordinating work effort with other teams as needed
Support special initiatives as identified
Two years working with ambulatory EHR applications.
Two years of experience working in Information Technology strongly preferred
Previous experience supporting Cerner/eClinical Works applications is required
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Management Information Systems
Excellent analytical abilities necessary along with strong problem solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work under pressure and prioritize work appropriately
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Willingness to reside within a commutable distance of Warren, MI
