OnStar Vehicle Performance Operations Leader
Position Overview:
Technical engineering leader responsible for operational performance of GCC advanced development programs and vehicle service management. Global responsibility for new program development, including operational management and overall performance. Continuous improvement and expansion of Over the Air (OTA) capabilities through GM and GCC engineering initiatives. Operational launch of new Vehicle Diagnostic and Monitoring programs, including development of analytical techniques based on Big Data systems. Lead integration of initiatives with next generation infotainment and telematic solutions. Design, develop, and implement process, data solutions and tools to measure and ensure performance of advanced development and vehicle service programs.
Key
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Support successful global launch of OnStar vehicle performance services and ensure tools and appropriate process, personnel and support is in place to launch and maintain global initiatives
Responsible developing and leading medium to large team of engineering personal
Responsible for development and performance objectives for the team, along with providing technical leadership to team members
Responsible for staffing and maintaining operational support model for global initiatives
Drive design/process related discussions with engineering and development teams
Work with appropriate engineering team members in the GM organization expanding our vehicle performance capabilities
Coordinate operational activities and system level readiness for new service offerings
Fully understand & document business process flows for new services
Develop performance metrics/reports/monitors to establish necessary visibility into new service launch
Analyze performance metrics/reports/monitors to identify any performance issues/risks before the customer
Provide technical leadership for operational and development activities
Maintain an active prioritized list of program requests
Manage new requests against the existing and upcoming programs
Work with development teams to prioritize platform changes and plans for
implementation
Support proactive/reactive issues resolution
Track individual and overall metrics to ensure performance goals are met
Manage/Tutor/Develop vehicle performance operations team
Qualifications
Required Skills and
Experience:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 7-10 years' experience in an engineering or IT role
Knowledge and understanding of SQL, SQL development and data models/relational databases
Strong communication and presentation skills to deliver status updates and progress against objectives to senior leadership
Strong understanding of engineering architecture and design principles related to system integration of remote reflash and vehicle components
Experience working with technical team during time sensitive/issue resolution incident management
Ability to work with cross enterprise members to support the identification and resolution of system and process issues
Strong understanding of operational procedures, protocols and communication paths ex. ITIL
Strong understanding of application architecture and design principles related to system integration of client components, web services, and databases
Sound organizational skills to prioritize work to be executed
Ability to identify system issues and improvements
Knowledge and understanding of UNIX

Service delivery
Strong engineering background around telematics architecture
Knowledge and understanding of OnStar applications and Network architecture
Experience with working cross functional teams operations/development & remote team members
