The Architecture and Development Practice Manager requires extensive IT experience combined with outstanding technical leadership, people management, communication, presentation, customer service, analytical and consultative skills. They need to be both technical savvy and have the ability to mentor the people they manage. In other words, they need to be a model for delivery excellence in their practice and be able to help their staff grow and excel in their work.
Primary Roles/
Responsibilities:
Lead from the front for all technical issues :
A solid Java EA background and exposure to Enterprise architecture methodology (Zachman, TOGAF)
Effectively participate in sales opportunities & ability to create, contribute to the development of RFP's
Ability to design and establish enterprise architecture as a practice or as a program management office for clients & competent using systems modeling tool or language (e.g. Rational Rose, UML, BPMN, Archimate)
Proven experience applying Application integration or services oriented architecture design patterns & experienced with Agile, RUP & Waterfall Methodologies
Ability to create architectures & designs considering systemic non-functional qualities (scalability, availability, reliability, security, management, support, lifecycle)
Willing and competent to get into the details of the code and resolve issues, if required
Lead the team as a quality champion and propagate tools and process that increase the quality of the code (e.g. Continuous Integration)
Developing project scope, goals and strategic plans for delivering Lochbridge Services to clients. This role will address both project work and initiatives where Lochbridge is providing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to an existing client team (ex: VAS).
Managing, recruiting, evaluating and mentoring team members . Recognize exceptional talent, and willfully move them throughout the organization. Identify and develop new leaders. Set an example for others by coaching & mentoring others. Give timely recognition for a job well done and provide favorable assignments that challenge your staff and meet business needs at the same time.
Managing and meeting engagement contract and revenue targets , participating in regular operational reviews.
Identifying, developing and managing client relations , in addition to meeting with client management for project support and presentations
Experienced in presenting to Director-level audiences (minimum, preferred experience at 'C' level)
Performance evaluations & Career Planning. Coordinate and complete the annual performance reviews by being specific and direct, show sincerity, and communicate face-to-face for both positive and negative performance efforts. Collaboratively set goals with action plans that define the key steps for achieving the goals. Adjust plans accordingly to keep priorities current. Collaboratively set plans for employees to grow in their skills and capabilities to ensure they add value to themselves and to Lochbridge.
Development of industry standards and best practices. The practice manager is expected to remain abreast of new techniques and tools. They will continuously improve practice processes through the incorporation of new techniques and tools into the practices PIVOT processes and manage staff adoption.
Resource management/work assignments. Coordinate assignment and scheduling of project delivery for all deployments & serve as internal liaison to all pertinent deployment teams (note - could vary based on Contractual services/Engagement)
Technical direction/decisions: Work with the key engagement stakeholders (e.g. Customer, Solution and/or Enterprise architects, etc.) to provide technical direction to the team on their tasks and objectives
Delivery governance. Validate team's deliverable quality. Ensure customer expectations are met. Adhere to PIVOT processes when defined (ex: mandatory for projects)
Human Resource Processes. Work with HR for disciplinary action and terminations. Ensure Sale steam provides written customer feedback on all engagements (good and bad). As for Salary increases and promotions, need to seek senior Delivery & Sales leadership approval.
Administering company processes. Approve time-sheets, manage vacation requests and absences. Approve IS requests and expenses (when applicable).
Advanced degree in information systems, information systems management, or equivalent industry experience

Excellent leadership skills
Good decision-making skills and initiative in solving problems
Competent in Project management and technical delivery management skills
10-15 years of program and/or technical delivery management
Experienced with salary planning, performance appraisals & technical mentoring
Managed multiple disciplines with varying team sizes up to 15-20 SMEs
Ability to lead a team of highly skilled individuals, to set priorities and solve problems
Effective oral and written communication skills
Budget and cost awareness
Persuasive and promotes action with ideas and plan
Eductation - minimum bachelor's degree in business or an IT-related field is required, while an advanced degree is preferred.
Hands on experience with fostering formal career planning for all line resources

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
