This well known media group is seeking a strategic, results-driven, dynamic Sales Director in Detroit. We have an incredible portfolio of properties. The company's brands MadameNoire and StyleBlazer have double the reach of Glam.com and Pop Sugar, not to mention 392 million page, 136 million mobile, and 23 million iPad views per month across our portfolio of brands.
The Sales Director will oversee all sales-related processes within given territory focusing on Multicultural Initiatives for the US and Automotive verticals: responding to requests for proposals; negotiating and executing insertion orders; working with integrated marketing solutions development; working to collaborate with ad operations to oversee trafficking and campaign launches; helping to optimize performance and delivery when necessary.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise spanning online video, mobile, and social platforms. They will leverage their existing network of corporate account and advertising agency contacts to generate new business, offering branded content, branded entertainment, mobile and display advertising, and SD amplification solutions. Not only will this person join our cutting-edge sales team in offering incredible digital advertising solutions to clients, with a focus on our automotive vertical, but this person will also be responsible for spearheading the establishment of relationships with diversity supplier programs on a national level.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Solid Advertising or Marketing background; preferably with the buying side of Digital Media
Experience working on, and with, diversity initiatives at the enterprise level
Experience in the automotive industry with high level of success and contacts
Minimum of 5
years of experience in Digital Advertising Sales
Thorough knowledge of Digital Advertising standards, practices and technologies
Well established contacts with both corporate accounts and Advertising Agencies
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage projects simultaneously, prioritize and delegate
Organized and results-oriented self-starter with a dedicated work ethic and collaborative style
Skilled at developing and maintaining client and agency relationships, media planning and buying and negotiations
Entrepreneurial ability to approach the challenges and opportunities of working in a dynamic industry
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Sharp communication and presentation skills
Ability to travel as needed
A Bachelors Degree is required. Advanced degree preferred

Hitting the established territory goal, increase of new categories (i.e. Spirits, Financial, Insurance & Retail) and several meetings with the brands.
What are we looking for on the resume, and why?
Stability in regards to tenure, measurable success meeting sales goals, strong knowledge of branded content, native advertising and programmatic selling is an absolute must. People coming from a mixed role (print/broadcast/radio/digital) do not do as well as people with experience selling 100% digital.

This position is part of the Direct Sales team and reports to the EVP of Business Development and Strategy.

Who will the person in this position interact with?
Clients, Integrated Marketing, Ad Operations, Executive Team, etc. Collaborates with editors and integrated marketing solutions teams on developing and executing creative cross- platform marketing ideas. Provides revenue reporting, call reports, and business strategy in weekly, monthly, and annual reporting to executive management.
Whats the bonus percentage?
6% commission on invoiced revenue with no cap on earning potential.
