Description
Job Summary
Provides risk management services to Senior Leadership and DTE business unit leaders, including analysis and communication of risks facing the enterprise, and identifying potential risks that new projects and contracts may pose to the enterprise. The Senior Strategist will also be responsible for developing and implementing a methodology to assist operations in capturing risks facing their organization, as well as a methodology to understand the relative risks across the enterprise to drive risk informed budgeting.
Key Accountabilities
Lead and provides support in developing the annual Top Risk Assessment presentation for company Senior Management and Board of Directors.
Serves as an internal consultant to business units as required to support the risk management and identification strategy.
Work with business unit leadership to facilitate the risk identification presented by contractual agreements.
Actively participate in Top Risk interviews with key company leaders.
Research and prepare internal communication for Senior Management.
Develop a process to assist the business in linking their strategic initiatives and ongoing efforts to emerging and existing risks facing the business.
Develop a platform for business units to evaluate and communicate strategic, operational, and financial risks and assess the impact those risks have on the long-term strategy of the business.
Develop a model to evaluate the relative importance of risks across the company to drive risk informed budgeting.
Provide leadership, analytical and financial skills on ad hoc projects.
Use continuous improvement tools to identify defects and improve processes.
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or Engineering and the knowledge/capabilities typically acquired through 5 plus years of job-relevant experience, inclusive of professional level business functions exhibiting a progressive work history.
Preferred: MBA
Ability to think strategically and creatively while demonstrating strong analytical and facilitation skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven abilities to cohesively defend or justify recommendations.
Ability to work professionally with individuals at all levels of the corporation and with outside consultant.
Demonstrated financial analysis and modeling skills and experience.
Demonstrated project management skills and experience.
