Registered Nurse (Educator)
The CCNE will demonstrate leadership skills, as well as clinical expertise in the management of complex patient care. The CCNE is knowledgeable in the use and training of hemodynamic monitoring equipment, such as central venous catheter, pulmonary artery catheters, and arterial line, but not limited to. The CCNE demonstrates leading and organizing delivery of care to assure continuity of care and peer accountability for practice, including access to care and discharge planning:
using advance clinical knowledge/judgement to promote staff involvement in planning, decision - making, and evaluating outcome. The CCNE uses professional standards of care, scientific evidence, and practice to evaluate employees, programs and/or service activities, creates educational plans to meet changing programs or service needs for self and others. Collaborates with other disciplines using group process for decision making and interdisciplinary problem solving related to education development. The CCNE will be an active member of required committees. The CCNE will maintain ACLS/BLS instructor status. The CCNE will be an active member of the facility's ACLS/BCLS program. Work Schedule:

In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. Heavy lifting 45 lbs and over., carrying, 1 hour, pushing (4 hours), reaching over shoulder, both hands required, walking (4 hours), standing (4 hours), kneeling, repeated bending, both legs required, ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously, ability to distinguish shades of colors. Use of patient care equipment designated for Safe Patient Handling required. Must be able to sit and stand at intervals utilizing the computer to review and document in the electronic medical record. Direct patient contact may include exposure to infected patients and contaminated materials requiring ability to don protective clothing in isolation or other procedures. May be exposed to patients who are combative secondary to delirium, dementia or psychiatric disorders. Must be mature, flexible, sensible individual capable of working with others, must be effective in stressful situations, and be able to shift priorities based on patient and learner needs.
