RN Care Manager/Clinic Coordinator

Responsibility for individual and/or disease-based care management and overall coordination of care for the Outpatient Cardiology Clinics. The nurse must demonstrate leadership and holistic care to the adult and geriatric population through collaborative strategies and in compliance with either the Michigan Nurse Practice Acts, in addition to Medical Center and Department standards. Provides direct and indirect nursing care to individual and groups of patients under the guidance and direction of the Section Chief of Cardiology, Medicine Service and with the direction and supervision of other assigned clinical staff. The RN coordinator will report to the Cardiology Chief. Practice:

Experience:
At least 5 years of clinical RN experience, of these at least 3 years experience in a Cardiology setting/floor, knowledge of cardiac pathology and medications, administrative experience, experience working in the clinic settings and triaging of the computer programs (Office apps). Finally, inserting peripheral IV lines and injecting IV is a plus with Echo contrast injection. Work Schedule:

Not required Physical Requirements Generally, the work does not involve special physical demands. Duties are performed in several medical center areas and incumbent must be able to travel to treatment areas with ease. The majority of time is spent working at a desk utilizing the computer or phone. It involves the frequent use of office equipment including the telephone, copier, computer, printer and mainframe terminals. There is the potential for extended periods of sitting, standing and carrying items weighing up to 20 pounds, i.e., medical records and manuals. Transporting patients in both wheelchairs and on stretchers. The incumbent is expected to use proper preventive ergonomic techniques to perform duties. Basic Requirements:

Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant:
The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. (Reference VA Handbook 5005, Appendix G6) OR In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of a current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement for graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Grade Determinations:
The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade:
Nurse I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse III - Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
