Contract Specialist

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for contracting services Typical work assignments will include:
Reviews requisitions and determines appropriate method of procurement, i.e., contract type, formal advertising, Federal Supply Schedules (FSS), General Administrative Services (GSA), Government-Wide Agency- Contracts (GWAC). Purchases simplified acquisitions when needed or required adhering to appropriate policy, procedures, and processes. Prepares statements of work (SOW) or Statement of Objectives (SOO), and other documents necessary prior to a formal solicitation process. Performs cost analysis and other evaluation actions to determine best value or lowest bid in award decisions. Analyzes the spectrum of support services requirements for the United States Attorney's office. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. To be QUALIFIED for this position, you must meet BOTH the basic requirements and the minimum qualifications. Your experience will be evaluated against all qualification requirements (basic and any additional requirements) listed below. BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
You occupy and/or have occupied a GS-1102, Contract Specialist position in the Federal Government on January 1, 2000, in one of the following grades GS-11 or GS-12. MINIMUM

To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must meet the following Criteria. Specialized
Experience:
You must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience in preparing statements of work or statements of objectives, and other documents necessary prior to a formal solicitation process; preparing a variety of reports concerning the status of funds, expenses, and obligations; drafting final contract documents to include specifications of bids and proposals; interpreting procurement policies and procedures; participating in the preparation of contract modifications, cost analysis, and acquiring services and supplies. Career Transition Assistance Plan (CTAP)-The CTAP provides eligible surplus and displaced competitive service employees in the Department of Justice with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
